Weathervane in the Rough
Dance to keep Kittery Families warm!  On Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 6:30pm to 11:00pm, the fuel and More Committee will be hosting a dance featuring Ben Baldwin and the Big Note at the Weathervane Lobster in the Rough on Badger Island in Kittery, ME. 

Join us for light refreshments, music, dancing, and a silent auction along with a 50/50 raffle.  Tickets are $35.00 each or $60.00 per couple and can be purchased at Kittery Town Hall, Ocean Bank on Walker St, TD Bank of State Rd, and Key Bank and Kennebunk Savings Bank both on Shapleigh Rd.  All proceeds will go to help Kittery stay warm this winter.

Clean Up Dive at Lake Winnipesaukee
On Sunday, October 12th, scuba divers will be meeting to do a clean up dive in Lake Winnipesaukee.  Then during the second dive divers will bring pumpkins into the water and have an underwater pumpkin carving contest. 

Please bring a donation of items or money to help the Humane Society of Greater Nashua.  Please call Barb at 603-889-7655 to RSVP and for any other questions. 
2008 Maine Oyster Festival
The 2008 Oyster Festival is a fun event to benefit the York Fisherman's Fund held on October 12, from 6pm to 9pm at the Union Bluff Meeting House.  There will be eight Maine Oyster Companies at the event shucking oysters for your consumption.  There will also be local area restaurants competing for 2008 chef of the year.  You'll be able to try oyster dishes from some of the top restaurants in Maine!  The Oyster shucking event is one of the main attractions, and the one event that everyone comes to see is the Oyster Luge Event.  This involves two giant blocks of ice, set side by side, with raceways carved into them.  One member of the team drops an oyster in the top while their partner waits at the bottom to swallow it!  Tickets are $45.00 for the event.

BreatheFest 2008

New Hampshire Renaissance Faire
Faires, Rennies and Bards will be coming again to Kingston, NH for the fourth annual NH Renaissance Faire.  This non profit event will take place the weekend before Halloween on October 25 and 26, 2008.  The first, second and third annual NH Renaissance Faire and Samhain Celebrations had some wonderful things going on and this year we'll have even more; from shopping for handcrafted goods by local artisans to belly dancers, marshmallow-shooting crossbows to wonderful performances of the musical and theatrical kind.  Lots of free activities for kids and adults all for the price of a movie ticket! 

Proceeds are being donated to the NH Food Bank this year.
Pumpkin Sale at York-Ogunquit United Methodist Church
The York-Ogunquit United Methodist Church will once again be selling pumpkins during the annual Pumpkin Patch at 1026 US Route 1, Maine.  The church will have a huge variety of sizes, shapes and prices of pumpkins including the "miniature pumpkins" and gourds.  The Pumpkins Patch will be open from Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sundays from 12:30 to 5:30pm from October 1st to October 31st.  Proceeds from the sale go to support the missions of York-Ogunquit church as well as the Navaho people of New Mexico, who grow the pumpkins.

Learn to Skate or Play Hockey For Fun
Classes will be held on Saturday mornings from 11:20am to 12:20pm with 45 minutes of instruction by certified instructors and 15 minutes of practice at the Dover Ice Arena, Dover, New Hampshire.  Registration forms are available at the front desk of the arena, or on-line at www.greatbayskating.org or
